Julien is a partner in McKinsey’s London office who focuses on serving private-equity clients and works directly with portfolio companies. His core focus is on the technology sector. He coleads the private equity and technology team in Europe.

Julien serves private-equity firms, institutional investors, and portfolio companies across Europe and around the world. He has been involved in more than 75 commercial and vendor due-diligence processes and more than 25 growth-strategy and value-creation projects for private-equity-owned portfolio companies.

Julien’s areas of expertise include due diligence and transactions, M&A strategy, exit preparation, growth strategy, with a focus on technology, which includes software and IT services.

Before McKinsey, Julien completed a PhD in economics as a Gates Scholar at the University of Cambridge, where his doctoral research focused on microeconomic and network theory. Prior to that, he graduated as a Rhodes Scholar with a master’s in international development at the University of Oxford. He also has a bachelor’s and a master’s in economics from the University of Montreal.
