Ankur is a partner based in McKinsey’s New Delhi office. He leads the QuantumBlack hub, McKinsey’s data and analytics centre of excellence. He is also a part of the global leadership of McKinsey’s Analytics Academy.

In the course of his decade-long tenure with the firm, Ankur has advised clients on the application of artificial intelligence and advanced analytics to consumer goods, hospitality, technology services, basic materials and commodity markets, power generation, manufacturing, and service operations across sectors. He has also helped public sector institutions develop AI capabilities at scale.

Ankur has worked with several public and private organizations in India, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia across consumer, retail, technology services, manufacturing, energy, healthcare services, automotive, and chemicals sectors.

Some of Ankur’s recent work includes leading the digital and analytics transformation for a large Indian renewable energy company, supporting a large consumer products company embed AI in their sales and marketing domains, and helping a large conglomerate in Sri Lanka deliver business impact using AI.

Ankur is presently leading the generative AI initiative for our India office, developing the approaches to deliver value at-scale from use of this new technology.

Ankur has co-authored multiple reports while at McKinsey, focused on the use of technology and analytics for better business outcomes. He has co-authored articles on translator training for Harvard Business Review and on the Analytics Academy for McKinsey Quarterly. Most recently, he led a joint effort with nasscom on ‘Harnessing the power of gen AI’ for the technology services sector.

Ankur also serves on the Board of the Antara Foundation, a NGO focused on delivering public health solutions at-scale.

Prior to joining McKinsey, Ankur was part of the launch teams at Public Health Foundation of India, a public-private partnership, and Sana, a technology start-up based at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. During Ankur’s academic days, his computer science research focused on artificial intelligence at labs in leading institutions such as MIT, Purdue University, INSA (France), and Indian Institute of Technology Delhi.
