Alex is a partner based in McKinsey’s Toronto office and a core leader of our growth and innovation work. He provides strategic and creative counsel to CEOs, senior executives, and board members looking to de-risk and accelerate change. His experience includes nearly two decades transforming organizations, unlocking new growth, and taking a purpose-driven and customer-centric approach to addressing strategic opportunities and challenges with a focus on the consumer and retail sectors in particular.

Examples of Alex’s recent work include the following:

  • advising a large North American quick-serve restaurant on the design, execution, and scaling of new B2B and B2C businesses beyond food
  • working with a global grocery retailer to develop, pilot, and launch a bold new innovative business and business model, including a subscription service spanning a grocery, apparel, and financial services ecosystem
  • advising a North American airline in understanding customers’ and noncustomers’ needs, values, and mental models to conceive, pilot, and scale an all-new customer-centric loyalty program and experience, including personalized, flexible, easy-to-use features
  • leading a capability-building program and strategic-planning effort for the strategy and transformation functions of an entertainment brand

Alex also cochairs The Climate Change Fund, advises government officials on the future of higher education, and guest lectures and speaks on strategy, innovation, organizational culture, and the Future of Work.
