Alastair is a partner in McKinsey’s London office and serves public- and private-sector clients on sustainability and energy transition topics.
In the private sector, Alastair leads McKinsey’s work in the United Kingdom on climate technology with deep expertise in carbon capture, utility, and storage and hydrogen. This involves supporting a range of incumbents, investors, and new entrants as they look to capture the business opportunities provided by the transition to net-zero emissions.
In the past 12 months, he has served oil and gas majors, financial institutions, industrial clients, investors, and start-ups in multiple green energy situations.
Alastair also has extensive experience serving the public sector on strategy, sustainability, cost transformations, procurement, and people topics, typically focusing on improving sustainability, cost performance, and productivity. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (MCIPS).
Alastair is passionate about people development and social diversity and how these can be further advanced in McKinsey and beyond. Outside of his client work, he has established a network within the firm focused on furthering social diversity in McKinsey and consulting more broadly.
